HEALING THROUGH THE ARTS

BILL JONES

My design is about a life-changing event: a Wounded Warrior Project program called “Warriors to Work” which posted a job opportunity working backstage with two incredible bands co-headlining a North America tour. Since then, I’ve developed a career in the live events industry that I never would’ve gotten otherwise.

The board represents my pride in the American flag and my love for this country, and the military. The musical note and guitar shows music’s huge role in my mental health and healing.

I want to bring hope and joy to veterans healing from combat wounds. Don’t ever give up — there’s a light at the end of the tunnel and a possibility of a normal life. It takes time, but I’m one of many who has been helped by WWP to live a successful and fulfilling life. There is hope.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

BILL JONES

Clarksville, Tennessee
U.S. Army Veteran

Bill served as Chief Warrant Officer (CW2-AV) in the Army, but his artistic side began when he was very little. Among his earliest memories, he was drawing and creating mini-comic strips for fun. When he first joined the military, he submitted logo designs for Army physical fitness t-shirts, challenge coins, and murals for his company. But when he returned home with post-combat PTSD, he lost all desire to be creative.

“It wasn’t until I found Wounded Warrior Project that I rediscovered my love for creativity again. My experience rekindled a desire to share my artwork with the world.”
